The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) has reaffirmed its position as one of the UK’s leading creative institutions, ranking as the second-best creative specialist university in The Guardian University Guide 2025. The rankings highlight UCA’s continued investment in student experience, research, and employability, further solidifying its commitment to shaping future creative professionals.
UCA ranked sixth in the UK for "spend per student" and eighth for student-to-staff ratio, showcasing its dedication to providing high-quality education and resources. The university saw significant progress in subject-specific rankings, climbing 18 places in Dance and Drama and making gains in Architecture, Art, Animation and Game Design, and Graphic Design, while maintaining a top 20 position in Interior Design.
In The Daily Mail University Guide 2025, UCA was recognized for its strong social mobility, ranking in the top 50, with 49% of its students being the first in their families to attend university. The university also saw a 5% improvement in the number of graduates securing high-skilled jobs, reinforcing its reputation for employability.
UCA’s Architecture course received high praise in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, ranking second for student experience, joint third for teaching quality, and 26th overall.
President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Jane Roscoe expressed confidence in UCA’s progress, stating that despite challenges in the higher education sector, the university continues to deliver an excellent student experience, improve graduate outcomes, and support high-quality research. She emphasized UCA’s ambitious strategy to further enhance student success.
Earlier in the year, the Complete University Guide 2025 ranked UCA eighth in academic spend, recognizing the university’s significant investment in student learning resources, libraries, and IT infrastructure. With consistently strong rankings across multiple university guides, UCA continues to strengthen its position as a leader in creative education, dedicated to empowering students and driving innovation in the industry.
